The term biophysical medicine refers to the effect on biological tissues of electro-magnetic (E-M) fields and electric current.

As suggested in the previous section, such effects implicate two families of mechanisms: biophysical and biochemical.

This section aims to introduce and establish some basic concepts and principles of the electrical properties of the body coupled with the responses of the body to acupuncture and electrostimulation
involved with these biophysical and biochemical processes.
